Abrieations and Materials
ch or chs = chain or chains
hdc = half double crochet
Sc = single crochet
sk = skip
Fo = fasten off
The ch 1 or 2 does not count as a stitch
4mm or 5 mm hook (depends on how thick your yarn is) I used a 4mm hook.
Any #3 or #4 yarn you want to use. One button or snap. I used a snap for mine.
Ch 101, in second ch from hook place a hdc & hdc too end, ch 1, turn (100).
Repeat until you have a total of 4 rows, ch 1, turn.
Row 5: hdc 6, *ch 3, sk 3, hdc 2, ch 3, hdc 2, ch 3, * repeat from * to * until you have 6 sts left, hdc in each, ch 1, turn.
Row 6-9: *hdc in each st, 3 hdc in ch 3 space*, repeat from * to* to the end, ch 1, turn.
Row 10: repeat row 5.
Row 11-14. Repeat rows 6-9, do not turn.
We are now going to do a border of three rows around the entire piece. Hdc in every stitch, 2 hdc in each corner. When you reach the end of your third row, fasten off.
Tab for rolling it up. Try to center this as best as you can. Once you figure out the center of the piece, hdc 8 across, ch 2, the 8 hdc should go across the center of the piece. Repeat that for approximately 27 rows or more, fo.
This is what mine looks like.
It took me a few days to make this because I had some problems figuring out the spacing for row 5 and because I broke my arm and wrist earlier this year. The arm healed fine but the wrist didn't, so now I can't crochet for long periods of time before it starts hurting. You can make this longer or wider to fit your hooks. I made this narrow because my hooks kept falling out of the older one, which was
too wide. Hope you enjoyed my tutorial.
